Blackberry Martini

Beautiful blackberry martinis with summer sweet blackberries, vodka, blackberry simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice.
½ lemon, sliced thin
Sugar or tajin, for rimming
5 blackberries
1 oz blackberry simple syrup (recipe included below)
2 oz vodka, blackberry vodka, or huckleberry vodka
1 oz triple sec
1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
Mint leaves, for garnish
Swipe half of a lemon around 2 martini glass rims and dip them onto a plate of Tajin powder or sugar, as desired. Muddle the blackberries in a shaker with the blackberry syrup. Pour in the vodka, triple sec, and lemon juice. Shake with ice, then strain the cocktail between the two prepared glasses. Garnish with a lemon wheel and mint leaves.
Blackberry Simple Syrup
1 ½ cups sugar
1 ½ cups water
1 ½ cups blackberries
Mix sugar, water, and blackberries in a saucepan over low heat and bring to a simmer. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes, then strain and cool. Store in a glass jar with a lid, such as a mason jar, in the refrigerator. It will last for about two weeks.
