Spiced Plum Liqueur

Plum liqueur with cinnamon, spice and everything nice. This is a delicious liqueur to have on hand for tonics or just for sipping in a little glass, and makes a lovely holiday gift in one of those pretty swing-cap bottles. This liqueur steeps for 3 months until mature.
9 fresh plums, halved and pitted
7 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
5 allspice
2 cups sugar
3 cups vodka
Place cut plums in a 2 qt jar. Add cloves, cinnamon stick, allspice and sugar. Fill to the top with vodka. Place lid on to seal and store in cool dark place. Shake every couple of days until the sugar is dissolved. Steep for about 3 months then strain and fill clean swing-cap jars.
Lemon Plum Liqueur Tonic:
½ lemon, squeezed
3 oz plum liqueur
5 oz tonic water
Fill a double old fashioned glass with ice, top with lemon juice, plum liqueur and tonic water. Cheers!
