Strawberry Grapefruit Paloma

Muddled strawberries with grapefruit juice, tequila, and strawberry seltzer.
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp lime zest
1 lime, cut in half, then slice a couple of wheels out of one half
3 strawberries, divided
3 oz grapefruit juice
2 oz tequila (anejo is my favorite)
Ice
Seltzer or strawberry seltzer
1 jalapeno slices, optional
Mix sugar and lime zest onto a plate large enough to hold the glass rim. Rim the glass with the halved lime then press into the citrus sugar plate. Cut 2 of the strawberries into slices, drop them into the glass, and muddle. Cut a slit halfway up the third berry and place on the rim as a garnish. Pour the grapefruit juice, tequila, and some ice into the glass. Stir and top off with the seltzer. Drop a lime wheel and jalapeno slice into the glass as desired.
