Cheesy Garlic Cream Orzo

Orzo pasta baked in a cheesy garlic cream with a browned mozzarella lid. Comfort food as good as mac n cheese, but more elegant. This would be nice baked in individual ramekins too. Inspired by Dina of Simply Home Cooked https://simplyhomecooked.com/cheesy-baked-orzo/
16 oz orzo pasta, cooked
2 cups heavy cream
2 Tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp salt
1 ½ cups freshly grated parmesan cheese, divided
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 green onion, chopped for garnish
Preheat oven to 350*. Mix heavy cream with butter, garlic, salt, and 1 cup of the parmesan cheese with the hot-cooked pasta. Spread into an 8” or 9” square baking dish. Top with mozzarella cheese and the remaining parmesan cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pasta is set in the cream and the mozzarella lid is beautifully golden-browned. Garnish with green onions for serving.
