Peach Bourbon BBQ Sauce

Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 10 mins | Course: Dinner | Yield: 1 ½ quarts

Mouthwatering peach bourbon bbq sauce with prepared mustard (so it’s gold) will make your chicken and other meats ultra delicious. Marinade meats reserving some of the sauce as a topping at the table. Inspired by Kori at Seeking Good Eats https://seekinggoodeats.com/peach-bbq-sauce/ and by Robin at Add A Pinch https://addapinch.com/spicy-peach-bbq-sauce-recipe/

2 Tbsp olive oil

1 jalapeno, sliced

1 red onion, diced

1 cup ketchup

¾ cup prepared mustard

½ cup brown sugar

½ cup cider vinegar

½ cup peach or apricot preserves

2 Tbsp bourbon

2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

3 peaches, rough chopped

2 tsp salt

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp pepper

In a stockpot, stir jalapeno and red onion in olive oil over medium heat until onion is soft and translucent, about 2 minutes, reduce heat to low. Add in the ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, cider vinegar, preserves, bourbon, Worcestershire, peaches, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Cook until thickened and slightly reduced about 15 minutes. Allow the sauce to cool for a bit before pureeing in a blender. Store bbq sauce in a mason jar in the fridge. BBQ sauce should last up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
