Brown Butter Krispy Treats

½ cup butter + more for the pan
12 oz marshmallows
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
8 cups rice krispy cereal
Butter a 9.13 baking dish and set to one side. Brown the butter in a Dutch oven or other large pot over medium-low heat. Watch closely so the butter doesn’t burn, it can go from golden to foamy, nut brown and fragrant in less than a minute. Once the butter is browned, turn off the heat and add the marshmallows, stirring to melt. Stir in the salt, vanilla, and then the krispy cereal. Spread evenly into the prepared pan and (if you can) allow the mixture to set at room temperature.
