Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ice Cream

Perfectly ripened strawberries and chocolate crunchy bits pair together to make this delightful summer ice cream. Inspired by Jennifer at Seasons and Suppers. https://www.seasonsandsuppers.ca/chocolate-covered-strawberry-ice-cream/ 

1 ½ cups heavy cream

1 cup half and half

2 cups strawberries, washed, hulled and pureed in the blender (about 1 ½ cups puree)

1 - 1 ¼ cups sugar, depending on the sweetness of your berries

2 4-oz bars dark chocolate, melted and cooled to room temperature

Pour cream, half n half and sugar into the blender with the puree and blend to mix. Pour into your ice cream maker and follow ice cream makers instructions for freezing. When nearly finished pour in the melted and cooled chocolate; letting it slowly drizzle into the mixture and crackle as it mixes in. Scrape into a freezer safe container and store in the freezer.
