Espresso Frosted Brownies

½ cu butter, softened 

8 oz dark chocolate chips

¾ cup brown sugar 

¼ cup sugar 

1 Tbsp espresso powder 

¼ tsp salt

3 eggs 

½ cup flour

Espresso Buttercream:

4 Tbsp butter, softened 

2 oz chocolate chips, melted 

1 Tbsp espresso powder 

1 cup powdered sugar 


Preheat oven to 350*. Spray oil or butter an 8” baking pan and set to one side. In a large Pyrex measurer or other microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips for about 1 minute. Stir in brown sugar, sugar, espresso powder, and salt. Whisk in eggs one at a time. Lastly, fold in flour until just incorporated. Spread evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 minutes. 

Allow brownies to cool while making the buttercream. Beat butter with a whisk, stir in melted chocolate chips, espresso powder, and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth.
