3 lbs stew meat
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons sesame oil
⅓ cup flour
1 Tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried black garlic
Salt, garlic salt, and pepper, to taste
1 onion, diced
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
1 cup celery, sliced
3 carrots, sliced
7 cloves garlic, minced
1 quart beef broth
1 Tablespoon ginger, minced
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
1 Tablespoon teriyaki sauce
1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
3 green onions, sliced
½ cup cilantro, chopped
Pot of rice, cooked
Preheat olive oil and sesame oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Mix flour, onion powder, dried black garlic seasoning, salt, garlic salt, and pepper in a Ziploc bag and shake the stew meat thoroughly to coat. Place the meat chunks in the Dutch oven and sear on all sides. When the stew meat has browned, reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in onion, mushrooms, celery, carrots, and garlic. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, then add beef broth, the remaining seasonings from the ziplock bag, ginger, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and rice vinegar. Simmer stirring occasionally for 2 to 3 hours or until the stew meat is fork-tender and is beginning to fall apart. Serve over rice with a garnish of sesame seeds, green onion, and cilantro.
