Mini Meatballs and Spaghetti-O's

The comfort food of childhood, tomato sauced pasta O’s with mini meatballs. Anellini pasta rings make perfect spaghetti-o's.
1 Tbsp olive oil
½ cup onion
2 15-oz cans of diced tomatoes, pureed (or tomato sauce)
15 oz water
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup anellini pasta rings
Mini Meatballs:
¾ lb ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
In a medium sized saucepan, saute garlic and onion in the olive oil over moderate heat. Stir for a couple of minutes to soften the onion. Add in the tomatoes and 1 can filled with water. Stir in the seasonings and pasta rings, giving it a good stir. Mix together meat and seasonings and drop using a mini scoop or by small teaspoonfuls into the bubbling sauce. Stir occasionally, letting the pasta and meatballs cook for 12-15 minutes.
