Spicy Black Bean Dip

Black beans and cream cheese combine with a bit of salsa to give this creamy bean dip a little kick. Great on crackers or with pita or tortilla chips.


1 19-oz can black beans, rinsed

4 oz cream cheese

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp green chili hatch powder (or ancho chili powder)

½ tsp cumin

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

½ cup salsa

Salt and pepper, to taste

In a food processor, pulse beans and cream cheese until creamy and smooth. Add in garlic, seasonings, and salsa and pulse again till incorporated. Scrape into a ramekin or serving bowl and serve with crackers or chips. Black bean dip can be served warmed or at room temperature.
