Garlic & Brown Buttered Green Beans

IMG_7952.jpg

Garlicky green beans are a favorite and stars on many of our holiday menus. The browned butter makes them special with a nearly nutty garlic fragrance.

4 cups green beans

1 tsp. salt

½ cup butter

4 cloves garlic, chopped

Boil water with salt over medium high heat in a stock pot with a strainer insert in it. Snap ends off washed green beans and boil for seven minutes. In a saucepan, brown the butter and garlic until the solids begin to drop and mixture is slightly foamy and a nutty brown color. Drain green beans and transfer to a serving bowl. Spoon the browned butter over until well coated. I usually have a little browned butter left over; it’s delicious over potatoes.
