Garlicky Pigs in a Blanket
Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 16 min | Course: Dinner | Serves: 4
Piggies with garlic butter wrapped in a blanket of crescent dough with cumin mustard sauce for dipping. I have a crescent dough and a sourdough crescent dough linked below.
8 hot dogs, plant-based, kosher, or favorite cooked hot dogs
1 8-oz container or approximate portion of homemade crescent dough
½ cup butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
Garlic salt, Trader Joe’s has a great garlic salt grinder
Sauce:
1 cup mayonnaise
3 Tbsp prepared mustard
3 Tbsp dill pickle relish
1 Tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp onion powder
Preheat the oven to 400°. Mix butter with the garlic in a small bowl. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a circle. Slice into 8 triangles with a pizza cutter (if using homemade dough). Brush the dough with garlic butter and lay a hot dog on the large end of each triangle. Roll up and lay them on a parchment-lined baking tray. Brush the tops with garlic butter and sprinkle with garlic salt. Bake for 16 minutes or until the dough is light golden in color.
Mix sauce ingredients in a small mixing bowl and serve alongside the warm piggies.
